DECA is excited to welcome the American Marketing Association (AMA) as its newest strategic partner for the 2025-26 school year.
This collaboration will allow DECA members to earn the industry-recognized AMA Marketing Management Certification and become a Professional Certified Marketer (PCM). This credential demonstrates career-ready skills and can help members gain a competitive edge – whether they choose to enter the workforce directly or continue their education in marketing and business disciplines.
DECA and AMA will offer members who score a 70% or better on DECA’s marketing cluster exam (at an association or international competition) the Professional Certified Marketer (PCM) credential for a nominal fee of $25.
The American Marketing Association is the leading professional association for marketers, offering resources, training and networking opportunities to advance the practice of marketing worldwide. With a rich history of setting industry standards and supporting marketing professionals at all levels, the AMA is committed to fostering the next generation of marketing leaders.
The PCM credential is approved at the state level in Alabama, Colorado, Idaho, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas and Wyoming. AMA is in the process of getting state approval from Georgia, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, New York and West Virginia, with additional state approval applications planned.
New credential holders will join a network of more than 6,000 certified professionals who are leveraging their credential for career advancement and show that DECA members have stand-out knowledge to solve modern business challenges.
“Partnering with the AMA expands opportunities available to our members by giving them access to industry-recognized certifications that validate their marketing knowledge and career readiness,“ said Sarah Cozewith, Chief Partnership Officer at DECA Inc. “These credentials help students differentiate themselves, signal their commitment to the profession, and prepare them for success beyond the classroom. Together, DECA and the AMA are preparing the next generation of marketing leaders.”
This new partnership with AMA aligns with DECA's commitment to preparing emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for future success.
