On Friday, April 26th, Marjory Stoneman Douglas DECA flew from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to Los Angeles, California, for 2024 DECA ICDC!
We started our trip with a tour of Los Angeles to explore different places, including the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Hollywood Sign, Warner Brother’s Studio Tour, The Chinese Theatre and The Grove. We wanted to make the most of our time in California since the last time our chapter was there was in 2017. The following day, we went to Disney California Adventure during the day and then to the ICDC Grand Opening Session in the evening.
Over the next two days, our members competed in various events, including the Integrated Marketing Campaign, Business Solutions Project and the Stock Market Game. On Sunday evening, we attended Florida DECA Night at Medieval Times, and then on Monday evening, we went to an Anaheim Angels Baseball game with Cypress Bay DECA.
During the Achievement Awards on Tuesday morning, we had four groups finalize, including:
- Lindsey Robinson & Nicole Robinson | Integrated Marketing Campaign Product
- Sebastian Bagoon | Stock Market Game
- Ananyaa Sutaria & Aneesha Nookala | Business Solutions Project
- Ben Shultz & Lucas Da Palma | Stock Market Game
Tuesday evening at the Grand Awards Session, Ananyaa and Aneesha won First Place in the Business Solutions Competitive Event, and Sebastian took Fifth Place in the Stock Market Game. We couldn’t be more proud of all our competitors, and we are so grateful to have had the opportunity to attend DECA’s 2024 ICDC in Anaheim, California!
