Looking to make this your best DECA year yet? Want to level up your skills, take on leadership roles and get involved in your community? Look no further than the Collegiate DECA Passport program! It’s your roadmap to try new things, grow professionally and make your DECA journey more than a competition.
What is the passport program, anyway?
Consider it your all-in-one guide to an engaging and well-rounded DECA year. The Passport Program offers three tailored tracks – for individual members, chapters and associations – each designed to help you grow across four pillars: academically prepared, community oriented, professionally responsible and experienced leaders. Complete the base requirements, choose at least three tasks in each category, and you’ll be on your way to recognition at ICDC.
Pro tip: tackle it with your friends! DECA is way more fun when growing with the DECA community.
Use it as your DECA year roadmap!
Don’t know where to start the year? Let the Passport Program steer the way as a roadmap.
Individuals: Whether you’re a first-year member or a seasoned competitor, the program offers a mix of tasks to stretch your leadership muscles and develop personally and professionally. Apply for scholarships, volunteer for 10+ hours, or present your DECA story to others. It’s all about taking your experience beyond the competition curtains and experiencing DECA in its full capacity.
Chapters: For chapters, use the Passport to plan out the year, such as building a budget, launching a fundraising campaign, or kicking off the year with an enhanced social media strategy. Knock out multiple tasks while keeping your chapter engaged, motivated, and ready to go the extra throughout the year.
Associations: Use the leadership passport to help plan your program of leadership for the year. Organize association-wide fundraisers or develop a high school outreach plan to increase membership and awareness. The Passport gives you a framework to support members and strengthen your program of leadership as a whole.
No matter which path you’re on, the Passport helps you organize your year, track progress, and ensure you’re getting the most out of it!
Why should I take part in the program?
- Make the most of DECA: Go beyond competition. The Passport helps you explore scholarships, leadership roles, community involvement, and more!
- Get Involved in Your Campus and City Community: Many tasks involve building community and collaborating with local and on-campus organizations. That means real-world impact and new friends along the way!
- Boost Your Resume: Employers love leadership, service, and community involvement. This program helps you hit all three. Help differentiate yourself while also getting the most out of your DECA experience!
- Recognized at ICDC: Upon successful completion, earn your moment in the spotlight at ICDC. Plus, time-to-time recognition is available on social media and other DECA outlets. Enjoy the special moment and reflect on the great memories created throughout the year!
