Meet the 2019-2020 Executive Officer Team

Elected at the 2019 DECA International Career Development Conference in Orlando, Florida, the 2019-2020 Executive Officer Team is eager to represent DECA members around the globe this year. Here we go, DECA!

PRESIDENT

D’Andre Vasquez

D’Andre Vasquez is a three-year DECA member from Washington. He served as the Area 10 President and State Vice President of Leadership for Washington DECA. Throughout his involvement, D’Andre competed in the Sports and Entertainment Marketing Series Event at DECA's International Career Development Conference. He believes that all students should have access to the DECA experience and is a passionate ambassador of the organization. D’Andre has built a seasoned background in leadership. He served as the president of his DECA chapter (Cascade High School | Leavenworth, WA)  as well as the Student Government President and Governor of Evergreen Boys State. In addition, D’Andre was the team captain for both the soccer and wrestling teams. D’Andre plans to pursue a major in Marketing and a minor in Political Science and plans to fulfill his dreams of developing a franchise, traveling the world and continuing to advocate for others. He is eager to pave the way to success for DECA members everywhere.

CENTRAL REGION VICE PRESIDENT

Dalton Green

Dalton Green is a five-year DECA member form Kentucky. Throughout his high school career, Dalton served on the Executive Council for his chapter (Green County Area Technology Center | Greensburg, KY). As an association leader, he served as Kentucky DECA’s Region Vice President, Region President, Region Vice President of Finance, and State Vice President of Finance. Dalton was a five-time state qualifier, competing in Community Service Project, Professional Selling, Finance Operations Research, and Innovation Plan. He was a state champion all five years and has represented Kentucky DECA at the 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019 International Career Development Conferences in Orlando, FL, Nashville, TN, Anaheim, CA, and Atlanta, GA. Dalton was also a varsity golfer for Green County and was the Charter President of the Rotary Interact club. Dalton plans to attend the University of Louisville to study accounting, as well as English. Dalton enjoyed serving the members of Kentucky DECA and achieving the association’s goals and hopes to achieve DECA’s goals as your Central Region Vice President.

NORTH ATLANTIC REGION VICE PRESIDENT

Will Theodore

Will Theodore is a four-year DECA member from New Hampshire. In his chapter (Bedford High School | Bedford, NH), Will helped with design projects during his freshman year. After meeting so many great people at his first ICDC, Will decided to run for state office his sophomore year. He then served on the New Hampshire Executive Board, which works as a cooperative team as opposed to having specific positions, for two consecutive terms. During his time as an association officer, he started the first-ever New Hampshire President’s Council and significantly grew membership in the state. As NARVP, Will's goal is to link together the North Atlantic Region to be stronger and more unified. Beyond DECA, Will loves to play the piano, go backpacking, and play ultimate frisbee. He also enjoyed wrestling in high school, serving as the captain of his school's varsity team. He will attend Emory University as a part of the Class of 2023. He plans to study political science and economics.

SOUTHERN REGION VICE PRESIDENT

Garrett Elkins

Garrett Elkins is a four-year DECA member from South Carolina. During his freshman year, Garrett was highly involved in reestablishing his high school's DECA chapter (Strom Thurmond High School | Edgefield, SC). He helped grow the chapter's membership from 15 members the first year, to more than 80 chapter members his junior year. Garrett served as the South Carolina DECA VP of Leadership and then as the South Carolina DECA President. Garrett thoroughly enjoyed serving as a South Carolina state officer and hopes to be a voice for each of the southern states as the Southern Region Vice President. Garrett is attending the University of South Carolina, Beaufort on a track and cross-country scholarship. In addition, he will be a member of USCB's Honors College. One of Garett’s goals is to establish a Collegiate DECA chapter at USCB and promote the opportunities that DECA has to offer.

WESTERN REGION VICE PRESIDENT

Sam Sawale

Sam Sawale has been in DECA for three years, although his commitment and interest in the organization stems from middle school. In his first year as a DECA member, Sam attended the International Career Development Conference and placed in the top ten in the Sports and Entertainment Operations Research event. Outside of academics, Sam is actively involved in his community as a leader, a teammate, and a friend. He served as the Treasurer of his Class Council for three years and is an Eagle Scout. Sam enjoys the outdoors and can be found swimming, biking, or hiking in his free time. Sam has a hidden talent of telling the worst jokes at the worst times. He believes DECA creates opportunities for people to grow, as well as to learn more about the business field. He aims to create unity within the international DECA family. In the Fall of 2019, Sam will join New York University's freshman class. He plans to major in finance and statistics.
