Have you ever experienced a case of burnout? If so, it can be a challenging experience. During the school year, we take on many responsibilities and may find it hard to balance work, academics and life with so much on our plate. It is important to find a way to take a break and rest–both physically and mentally–to avoid burnout.
Here are my top three favorite methods to handle burnout:
1. Sleep Meditation
I love sleep meditation. Try playing some relaxing background music and focus on it before you head off to bed. For me, it’s calming and always eliminates any stress I encounter. It’s also good to play in the background while working on assignments.
2. Exercise
Exercise is especially important when it comes to improving both your mental and physical health. I like to start my day by doing 20 push-ups in the morning, a set in the afternoon and another set before I go to bed. However, any exercise that allows you to clear your mind and focus on a healthy routine is a great option.
3. Eating Healthy
I am not ashamed to say that I can eat a whole bag of grapes straight from the grocery store in less than 15 minutes. It’s one of my proudest achievements in life. But seriously, eating healthy foods can dramatically improve your mental and physical health. Fruits and vegetables are high in nutrients and vitamins and they taste great when fresh! By focusing on preparing and eating healthy foods, you can better reduce stress.
