This spring, the TCHS DECA Marketing Club partnered with GladDog Nation to host a month-long donation drive to bring comfort and joy to shelter dogs across the country.
From April 20 to May 20, students and staff donated new and gently used stuffed animals, dog toys, tennis balls, chew toys, and other pet-friendly items. Donation bins were placed around the school, making it easy for everyone to get involved and support the cause.
GladDog Nation is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to “Turn Sad Dogs into Glad Dogs.” The organization collects donated toys, cleans and refurbishes them, and then distributes them to animal shelters and rescue organizations at no cost.
The idea behind the drive was simple: give old toys a new purpose while helping animals in need. Thanks to the generosity of the Trenton Central High School community, dozens of donations were collected throughout the month. What may have seemed like a small donation to one person could make a big difference to a shelter dog.
The project, entirely student-led by members of the DECA Marketing Club, offered students an opportunity to make a positive impact beyond the classroom. It also highlighted the importance of community involvement and showed how people can come together to support a meaningful cause.
TCHS DECA would like to thank everyone who donated and helped spread the word. The success of this drive would not have been possible without the support of our students, staff, and community members. Together, we helped bring a little more happiness to dogs in shelters.
