Oliva Stegner: Jungmin Kang founded her business, Snoopslimes, at the age of 13. She used her $200 allowance to begin her online business, where she sells a fan favorite - Slime. She created her own slime recipes and quickly went viral on Instagram for her ASMR content and unique business approach. Kang, a former DECA member, was recognized at ICDC for winning first place in the Business Growth Plan with her business.

Now, Snoopslimes is based in Austin, TX and has sold over 1 million slimes. She has since been featured on Forbes 30 under 30 for E-commerce and has been featured by NRF, ABC News and Austin Business Journal. Kang’s dream is to bring more representation to those with her background and encourage teens to pursue their entrepreneurship dreams. She highlights her Korean culture by creating slimes inspired by it. Kang’s impact as a young leading woman in the business world has inspired many, and she continues to blaze her trail every day.

The First Female Self-Made Millionaire in America (1867-1919)

Eva Shapiro: Madame C.J. Walker is known as the trailblazing matriarch of self-made success. Born to formerly enslaved parents, she faced adversity and encountered numerous obstacles in her life. Despite this, she was faced with unwavering determination and a strong entrepreneurial spirit.

After suffering from hair loss of her own, Madame C.J. Walker hair care products were born. By recognizing and addressing an underserved market, she transformed her life and revolutionized the hair care industry. With her savvy marketing strategies, such as storytelling, building a personal brand identity, door-to-door sales, and in-person demonstrations, Walker had an innate understanding of her customers' needs. Her ability to connect with her customers personally and her relentless dedication to promoting her brand set her apart in a competitive market.

Walker rapidly ascended to become the first female self-made millionaire in  America, crashing through boundaries and setting the stage for future women entrepreneurs.

Mathematician and Physicist (1918-2020)
