This summer, DECA members worldwide are participating in a special GooseChase scavenger hunt where chapters can share their summer highlights and goals for their DECA chapter this upcoming school year. A few members of the Syosset DECA chapter shared their summer experiences with the DECA GooseChase on social media, whether it be by getting to know the executive officer team better, embarking on DECA trivia or engaging in fun activities like baking, volunteering and fundraising.
DECA has not only allowed members to form strong friendships during competition season but has given them even more opportunities to stay strong with activities like these. For example, members were brought together in “E.S.W.B,” where DECA friends took pictures with their emotional support water bottles. Another pair of members enjoyed a day at the beach where they snapped photos with each other for “DECA Bestie.”
Many of the GooseChase activities also involve making a greater impact on communities, which DECA strives to do. Similar to DECA’s competitive events during the school year, like the Community Giving Project, members participating in the DECA GooseChase can show their impact by engaging in volunteering and fundraising activities. Hence, DECA is genuinely preparing the next generation to be community-oriented leaders.
Summer is all about fun, which DECA strives to promote, inspiring members for their summer bucket lists! DECA members showcased their fashion with the “OOTD” mission, posted about their favorite summer hobbies with the “Hobby Time” mission and some tried new things. One Syosset DECA member made delicious DECA-themed cupcakes with DECA’s logo. Another created a unique S’mores creation in “The S’more, the Merrier” mission. DECA’s Summer GooseChase has brought together communities and allowed members to explore new things.
Lasting until August 10th, members can engage in this digital scavenger hunt to potentially win a beloved Shop DECA gift card, which can then be used to purchase special DECA swag. These missions will inevitably allow DECA members to grow as a chapter and as individuals by establishing their unique 2024-2025 DECA goals to start a brand new year.
