Jan 24, 2022

Personal Financial Literacy

You are to assume the role of a senior college student. You are meeting with a risk management advisor at an insurance organization to learn about the need for insurance, the benefits of having insurance and the consequences of not having insurance.

You live in an apartment off-campus. You are a college senior that will soon be graduating. You own a vehicle, mountain bike, smartphone, laptop computer and the usual household items. You have an internship that offers no benefits, but will be working full-time as a salaried employee upon graduation. After graduation, you will be removed from all parental insurance plans.

With changes approaching, you are meeting with the risk management advisor to determine common types of risks and how those risks can be managed.

The risk management advisor has been asked to explain risks you are vulnerable to and how those risks can be managed through different types of insurance. You want to learn how insurance works, how it is beneficial and the possible consequences of not having any insurance.
